Membership Benefits
As members you will have full use of our clubhouse with kitchen, washrooms, sitting area and outdoor shower. We have a barbecue for your use, picnic tables, fire pit, and volleyball court.
We have a great swimming area and launching area for your boat. We offer boat parking on the grounds. We have locked storage sheds with lockers for your equipment.
A calendar of social events, including races, is planned each summer so you can get involved and meet other members and families. We have a Family Fun Regatta in August and everyone is welcome to participate.
A members discount of $10 per course is given for sailing lessons. If you are a member and want a discount code, contact the membership director.
Members are expected to volunteer 8 hours of service to the club annually. Clean up opportunities are offered throughout the year or members can find their own ways to volunteer – cleaning up around the grounds and clubhouse as they see needed and then recording their hours using our online form.
We DO NOT have boats for rent or even for members to borrow.
Please note that we have increased fees this year due to our significantly increased costs and much higher than expected costs to replace our dock.
Membership Fees:
Memberships run from May 1 to April 30 the following year. Memberships should be paid up by May 1.
For 2024, Membership for a family living at the same address, including dependent children will be $500. $175 of that is a refundable deposit which is returned after the season if you have completed and documented 8 hours of volunteer work for the club.
As listed in our policies, renewing members will be assessed a late fee of $100 if their membership is not paid by June 1.

Boat Parking Fees
Everyone on the wait list has been accommodated for 2024. To inquire about space for your boat, contact us.
Please note that Membership does not immediately entitle you to boat parking.
Boats are not to be delivered to SOSA without first ensuring space. A boat purchased from another member does not include the boat space. We want to encourage active, sailing members at SOSA, and boats must be in safe, sailable condition to be considered for parking.
A family may park a maximum of two boats on SOSA property. More than two boats requires an additional membership.
Parking fees are based on the size of boat. We calculate that by multiplying length overall (LOA) by beam. In 2024 we are charging $2.95 per square foot. Please consult the table to see the specific amounts for each kind of boat at the club. If your boat is not listed, please contact us to let us know so we can add it to the system.

We will send members a link to pay for boat parking once space has been approved.
Locker Fees
Locker prices for 2024 are as follows:
- Small locker, approximately 18″x34″x20″ (7 cubic feet): $40
- Large locker: $70
Currently only small lockers are available. Please contact us if you want to rent a small locker.
